About us

Ilkley Pre-School Playgoup is a wonderful place for your child to prepare for school. We are not linked to a specific primary school, once reaching school age, our children go on to a number of local schools including All Saints, Ashlands, Sacred Heart and Ben Rhydding primary schools (and others).

We accept children from the time they are 2.5 years old and we offer places every week day from 9:15am to 11:45am. We also offer optional lunch clubs, where children bring their own packed lunches, on Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes, these sessions start immediately after the end of the playgroup sessions and last for one hour. You are free to choose, subject to availability, which sessions you would like your child to attend but we do ask that you commit to a minimum of two sessions per week.

Playgroup sessions are held at the Quaker meeting house, which is a lovely venue, on Queens Road. We are often referred to locally as Queen's Road Playgroup. We have a lovely, well qualified team of staff, many of whom have worked for us for many years. They provide a fun and stimulating environment for the children in a friendly, calm and relaxed atmosphere.

We are a registered charity so our objectives are simply to provide the best caring environment for the pre-school development and education of children, not to make a profit. The fees we charge simply cover our costs. To keep costs to a minimum we do ask that each parent does one or two parent duties each half term. These are nothing to worry about but are a great way to see for yourself what happens in a playgroup session.

Our trustees are all volunteer parents of children currently attending playgroup, so you can rest assured that we will do our very best to ensure that all children attending have a caring, safe and happy pre-school experience. You may want to join the committee yourself, we would be delighted to welcome you.
