Duty rota

Everyone is responsible for playgroup duties – usually once or twice each half term. We rely on the help of parents as we need to maintain our high ratio of adult helpers to children

i.e. 1:4 under 3 and 1:8 over 3.

We have 3 or 4 staff each morning and 2/ 3 duty parents. We look forward to welcoming you on your duty morning. Please do not feel nervous about it – we try and make things as informal as we possibly can.

When on duty, you are asked to arrive at 9.00am (where possible), to help prepare for the mornings activities. Instructions are available, but also please ask the staff as they will tell you what is required. Do get involved in the activities and respond to the needs and moods of the children.

If you are unable to do a duty on the day allocated, it is your responsibility to arrange a swap. Please mark this change on the notice board. If on the morning of your duty, you find that because of illness you are unable to attend, please try and arrange a substitute from the rota list.

If you are able to do an emergency duty, at short notice, please give your name to the rota secretary. This is very helpful in cases of illness and personal crisis. Please remember, when swapping to take into account the number of siblings that will be at playgroup. We cannot have more than 1 on anyday.
